What You'll Do As the Data Operations and Analysis Manager, you will empower Horizons for Homeless Children to better understand its operations and the outcomes of its services on low-income children and families across Massachusetts. You will partner with educators, family advocates, and finance and administrative leads to map internal processes, capture needed data, and develop feedback loops for Horizons teams. Working with the Leadership Team, you will collectively work to improve the agency's data resources and develop and refine dashboards, reports, and deep-dive analyses that drive success for local families. A successful candidate will have a demonstrated enthusiasm for learning new data analysis tools/techniques, a knack for structured thinking, and a desire to help improve nonprofit operations through quantitative and qualitative analyses. This role will require both independent, creative thinking and a collaborative approach to working with different internal and external teams. More details about your responsibilities
- Own and maintain Horizons' Quickbase operational applications
- Create Quickbase reports and forms
- Build and maintain Quickbase pipelines and integrations with other platforms such as Microsoft 365 and Twilio
- Manage Quickbase permissions and user model
- Collaborate closely with Quickbase technical services team and manage Quickbase enhancement projects
- Respond to regular support requests and bug fixes
- Document database design and processes
- Conduct trainings for end users in Quickabse
2. Simplify data collection and ensure data quality
- Monitor operations data-capturing for quality, and work with direct service teams to improve data collection across the agency
- Pioneer steps to improve data reliability, security, and operational efficiency
- Regularly meet with stakeholders and end users to gather feedback for data collection improvement
3. Analyze and report data in innovative ways
- Calculate summary statistics on service operations, family, and student outcomes, and share findings regularly with agency leadership
- Create powerful data visuals in Power Bi to demonstrate progress and highlight trends
- Perform deep-dive analyses using statistical software such as R or SQL
Starting salary range, compensation, and benefits $65,500 - $75,000 is the starting salary range for our Manager level roles with a 4% premium uplift for Bilingual English/Spanish. Your starting salary will fall within that range depending on your competencies, experience, and skillset. Your total compensation package includes the following benefits:
- Health coverage options designed to be as comprehensive and affordable for you as possible, with Horizons covering between 70-75% of premiums (a value that ranges from an additional $8,000 - 20,000 per year based on your enrollment choices).
- While you have a choice between an HMO and PPO plan for medical coverage, most employees pay $86 for individual, $172 for 2-person, or $270 for family coverage per bi weekly paycheck and never pay more than $300 for individual or $600 for 2-person/family toward deductibles.
- Paid leave coverage is offered through Massachusetts' Paid Family and Medical Leave. Horizons covers both medical and family contributions at 60% (100% for employees who earn less than $50,000 annually) with up to 26 weeks of paid leave available based on eligibility and approval.
- Horizons' additionally offers 1 week for paid parental leave for welcoming a child into your family through birth, foster, or adoption, that often covers the waiting period for PFML to begin.

QualificationsEducation & Experience
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of two courses in quantitative analysis or data systems
- Between 3 and 5 years of experience with data or business analysis, program management, operations, information systems, and/or project management
- Extensive experience working with Quickbase or other low-code application development platforms required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required, and experience with data visualization tools such as Power Bi or Tableau is desirable
- Demonstrated experience in quantitative analysis (including summary statistics and data reporting/visualization) and business process improvement
- Professional or academic experience with program or project evaluation or research, including data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and reporting writing
- Experience with assessment and survey design and/or administration a plus
- Experience with issues of homelessness or child trauma a plus
- Quickbase App Builder or Quickbase Expert Builder certification a plus
