**Job Summary**
As the Data Scientist, you will assist in managing and analyzing data from a database.
**Job Description**
We are looking for a **Data Scientist** to assist in managing and analyzing data from a database. This position will be **full-time** and **hybrid.**
**What Youll Do**
+ Manage data systems and data collection efforts
+ Oversee use of data system, become an expert in navigating and pulling data from data systems
+ Clean and manage quantitative and (occasionally) qualitative data
+ Maintain documentation of data collection activities including transcripts, data files, data dictionaries and codebooks
+ Meet weekly with other data system stakeholders to collaborate around shared database and reporting needs
+ Conduct analyses on administrative data
+ Analyze quantitative and (occasionally) qualitative data using software such as Excel and SPSS
+ Participate in the design of data project plans
+ Collaborate and communicate around findings and needed improvements
+ Support the development and maintenance of interactive data dashboards and visualizations using Excel and Tableau
+ Collaborate with stakeholder groups to interpret data and develop recommendations
+ Assist with administrative tasks
+ Send/share data with necessary stakeholders, both internal and external
+ Coordinate administrative tasks related to the statewide childcare research project
**What You'll Need**
Required:
+ Graduation from an accredited college or university in a discipline appropriate to the position
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience managing and analyzing data from large administrative data systems
+ Experience managing and analyzing data in Excel, SPSS, Power BI
+ Experience analyzing data in Excel, SPSS, Power BI and/or SQL
Preferred:
+ Degree or coursework in data science
+ Experience creating data visualizations, dashboards, and analytical reports in Excel, Tableau, Power BI
+ Managing and analyzing data from large administrative data systems
+ Data communication and liaison skills in government settings
+ Survey design skills
**Physical Demands**
+ Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
+ Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
+ Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
