Educational Qualifications:
- Master's Degree with valid PEL and approved program/endorsement for School Psychologist
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform individual psychological and educational evaluations and reevaluations of pupils referred due to learning and/or adjustment problems
- Read, analyze and interpret testing and survey results; interpret psychological services to the public
- Use evaluation information to consult with parents, teachers and professional workers in the school and community through individual and group conferences and written reports
- Communicate effectively (both written and oral) with students, parents, colleagues and administration
- Respond to common inquiries or complaints from students, parents, agencies, teachers or members of the school community
- Provide counseling services and other remedial measures to students with learning and/or emotional problems
- Evaluate and plan for low-incident handicapped children
- Perform or assist with other duties as assigned by director of Student Services
- Active/Contributing member of Crisis Team and Student Support Team
Additional Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Special Education Law
- Comfortable with digital resources and technology based assessments;
- Ability to lead the discussion to determine eligibility for Special Education and Related Services
- Coordinate completion of the Domain Review for all initial case study evaluations and triennial re-evaluations, except speech only
- Complete the required forms and report on findings at the Eligibility Review meeting
- Facilitate meetings as directed by supervisor
- Conduct social and academic instruction groups (S/AIGs) for pro-social, academic and problem-solving needs of students as determined by the Student Support Team
- Conduct student observations and Functional Behavior Assessments as part of Student Support Team
- Coordinate and implement Behavior Intervention Plans as part of Student Support Team
- Contribute to MTSS process as part of the Student Support Team
- Assist Assistant Principal with management of 504 Plans
- Attend County meetings and other Professional Development seminars as determined by supervisor
- Maintain accurate documentation
- Assist in scheduling of IEP and 504 meetings as part of Special Education Team
