Using research-based and industry best practices, this person must understand how to make sense of information from multiple sources, be able to compile, analyze and synthesize the information and prepare reports/presentations to various stakeholder groups that are user-friendly and visually engaging. Qualifications: - Degree in mathematics, statistics, information systems, or a research related field, or equivalent work experience
- PEL or Teaching or school administrative experience in K-12 environment preferred
- Knowledge of current educational best practice and research
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to effectively analyze data, present information, and respond to questions
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to write reports and generate visualizations of relevant data
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing
Essential Functions: - Collaborate to support schools and district staff and administrators to identify opportunities for process and system improvements;
- Prepare reports for school and district administration that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data; including local, state, and national assessment data.
- Interprets and review assessment data with administrators and School Improvement Teams and provide support in the planning of action steps;
- Support evaluation for continuous improvement by reviewing data to report out on programming/initiative progress.
- Assist in the development of assessment tools for program evaluation, as well as develop testing and measurement methods used to evaluate district needs and overall academic and behavioral/SEL progress according to building and district goals;
- Implement and coordinate data management goals and objectives for the purpose of providing for the efficient and effective functioning of system routines and procedures;
- Collaborate with relevant team members to collect and analyze data;
- Work with IT department to develops support ad-hoc queries and reports from student system data and other district information systems;
- Provide expert data analysis to answer critical questions that will help personnel manage and understand the data and the trends; analyze and interpret data using statistical techniques;
- Create presentations and reports based on recommendations and findings including the appropriate use of graphs, infographics and other methods to visualize data;
- Facilitate data techniques, data analysis, data visualization, data discovery and statistical methods;
- Fulfill data requests, answer questions, and provide consultation for schools and district stakeholders as appropriate;
- Assist in creating user-friendly reports to assist stakeholders (district office and schools) in data- driven decision making;
- Develop and maintain historical student and school data files to monitor and track performance especially for longitudinal analysis;
- Compile data from multiple assessments to develop student, subject, grade-level, or school achievement profiles;
- Work with stakeholders to conduct training and professional development in the use of data to improve student results and areas related to job function;
- Determine the overall quality of data and troubleshoot to correct problems;
- Ensure the validity of all data presented to staff;
- Develop protocols to ensure data accuracy;
- Handle confidential information responsibly and adhere to strict confidentiality of information per district policy and statutory requirements;
- Participate in department and interdepartmental project teams to improve processes within the district;
- Assist and/or lead in designing various data collection projects and activities;
- Collaborate in selecting appropriate data collection instruments or in designing instruments; May assist in the development of survey instruments;
- Provide assistance to schools in understanding and assessing testing and evaluation results as well as school improvement plans and goals;
- Stay abreast of best educational practices to support analysis of data and recommendations from data.
