GENERAL PURPOSE:SQL Developer to support a cutting-edge research study focused on AI-Driven Learning for Event Recognition and Treatment (ALERT) using real-time patient monitoring data. The SQL Developer will play a critical role in managing and optimizing databases that store large volumes of real-time clinical data, facilitating the development and deployment of AI models aimed at improving patient outcomes.RESPONSIBILITIES:Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases to support data storage, retrieval, and analysis for the research study.Write and optimize SQL queries to extract data from real-time patient monitoring systems.Collaborate with researchers, data scientists, and AI engineers to ensure efficient integration of data pipelines with AI models.Assist in creating and managing data marts or data warehouses as needed for the study.Support data extraction for model training, testing, and validation purposes.Ensure the accuracy, security, and integrity of large-scale clinical datasets.Perform regular database performance tuning and troubleshooting.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance database design and support research objectives.Other duties as assigned (e.g., drafting abstracts and research papers)QUALIFICATIONS:Associate's degree in related discipline such as Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Science or Engineering required.Bachelor¿s degree in Biomedical Informatics or a related field preferred.2 years of related experience or Or equivalent combination of education and experience required.Background in a healthcare-related field and experience working with clinical data, electronic health records (EHR), or patient monitoring systems preferred.Familiarity with AI or machine learning projects, especially in healthcare preferred.or equivalent combination of education and experience required.Proven experience as an SQL Developer, with expertise in writing complex queries and stored procedures required.Strong knowledge of SQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server) required.Experience working with large datasets in a healthcare or research environment preferred.Understanding of data normalization, indexing, and performance optimization preferred.Familiarity with real-time data systems and their integration with AI models is a plus preferred.Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary research team.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail required.The University of Rochester is committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion to advance the University¿s mission to Learn, Discover, Heal, Create ¿ and Make the World Ever Better.
