This job was posted by : For more information, please see: This position serves as a Database Administration Specialist I, assisting in performing a range of applications services of a limited complexity in supporting DB2, SQL Server and the enhancement and maintenance of system applications. In this role you will assist IT staff in coding and testing of business objects and receive instructions in understanding and applying modern systems methodology and standard operating procedures in performing the structure phases of a system lifecycle. Essential Functions Under immediate supervision, serves as a Database Administration Specialist I for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), supporting the Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR), assisting in performing limited assignments in DB2 and SQL Server environments including SQL Server Reporting Services and the operating system environments the products run on. Performs application programming support of limited complexity, supporting, maintaining, and developing scripts and programs in support of DB2 and SQL Server. Receives instructions in understanding and applying modern systems methodology and standard operating procedures in performing the structured phases of a system lifecycle. Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology field by continuing education through meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
