This position offers an exciting opportunity for those who would like to make a tangible difference in a hands-on role. During our over 60 years here on Long Island, we have become a leading manufacturer of consumer guidance products, and wed love to add a person to our team who is looking to grow with us. We are looking for a data guru. The primary responsibility will be to design, develop and maintain a cohesive database management system for a variety of product data and documents. The data management system will ideally streamline the integration between various platforms including ERP, website, salesforce.com and reseller data forms. The challenge lies in understanding the intricacies of the company and products and translating that to a simple and streamlined data system. We are looking for a well rounded candidate that has many tools at their disposal to get the job done. Or someone willing to learn something new to complete the task if it makes sense. We wear many hats some experience in IT to do basic upkeep should be expected. Duties - Design and implement database solutions in line with company needs - Ensure all database systems meet business requirements and performance goals - Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, recovery, and migrations - Monitor database performance and recommend improvements for operational efficiency - Collaborate with IT team to ensure database security - Troubleshoot database issues and provide technical support Experience - 3 years in database experience -Solid knowledge and familiarity with product data systems. -Strong competencies in project management with good organizational and problem-solving skills. -Familiarity of basic manufacturing and the relationship within an ERP system. -Strong knowledge of Excel to allow a portal into the data for everyday users. -Experience with Sage Accpac (Sage 300) is a plus -General familiarity with tying together multiple web properties is a plus. - Proficiency in managing databases such as MySQL - Experience in database design, implementation, and maintenance - Familiarity with server architecture and high availability concepts - Skilled in performance tuning and optimization techniques Job Type: Full-time Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year Experience: MySQL: 1 year (Preferred) Microsoft Excel: 1 year (Preferred) Ability to Commute: Holtsville, NY 11742 (Required) Ability to Relocate: Holtsville, NY 11742: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
