SummarySpire is seeking a Certified Plumber to work in the Mississippi operation. This position will be responsible for performing field service and meter work on the natural gas distribution system.
Duties and Responsibilities - Performs routine customer service procedures including but not limited to, gas turn on, turn off, read in/readout, dead meter checks, meter pulls, meter loop constructions, seasonal equipment start-up, etc.; investigates gas odor complaints.
- Performs work requests generated by the Credit Department and Billing Department, including but not limited to re-reads, high/low consumptions checks, meter information verification and collections.
- Completes administrative work associated with work assignments performed, including recording information to ensure a thorough, complete and accurate record is maintained of each customer contract or job performed; responsible for the accounting of paperwork taken into the field from the office area.
- Performs meter reading, line locating, leak survey and dispatching duties and functions as required.
- Performs night/weekend duty as scheduled.

Supervisory ResponsibilitiesRequired Education (certifications, licenses) - High School diploma or equivalent.
- Mississippi Board of Contractors (MSBC) plumber's license required
- Valid driver's license
Required knowledge, skill and abilities - 2+ years of experience as a Certified Plumber
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record and the ability to drive a Company vehicle.
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of the Company procedural manuals and ability to perform work assignments according to outlined procedures.
- Ability to successfully complete the training required to progress to the Service Technician position in a timely manner and subsequently perform all essential duties of the position.
- Ability to navigate internet and to use general and specialized computer applications to manage data.
- Requires being exact or highly accurate and meeting strict deadlines. Ability to read, write and interpret work related documents. Ability to perform basic math skills.
- Ability to work effectively alone and with others in a group or team. Requires work with external customers or the public. Ability to deal with unpleasant, angry or discourteous people and conflict situations in a professional manner. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
- Ability to react appropriately and effectively in emergency situations, including responsibility for the health and safety of others.

Physical demands, environment and schedule - Requires wearing applicable protective and safety equipment.
