POSITION SUMMARY:
The Camp Administrative Assistant works directly with the Camp Director and is responsible for the management of camp business operations, including but not limited to camp registration information, attendance and financial reporting, distribution of information to campers and families, and interfacing with various GSOFCT Departments including Girl Scout Experience, Outdoor Program, Member Experience, Customer Care, Retail Operations, Human Resources, Technology and Data, and Property Services team. They must be familiar with State, ACA, Girl Scout Safety Activity Check Point, and GSOFCT policies.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Participates in the daily camp administration, responsible for the overall business operation of the camp and its public image.
* Assists with planning and implementation of pre-camp training, in-service training and staff meetings throughout the summer.
* Follows and enforces Camp Staff Personnel Policies. Provides conflict resolution and problem solving with staff as needed.
* Assist council shop staff with weekly trading post.
* Ensures business office is adequately staffed. Manages customer service relations via telephone and in person, as well as Rallyhood, with the campers, staff and parents; including returning telephone calls and delivery of messages promptly.
* Keeps records, reports, and maintenance requisitions as necessary.
* Maintains logs of all phone calls, visitors and parent communication.
* Provides effective communication (both verbal and written) to camp staff, campers, camp administrators and various GSOFCT representatives.
* Keeps the Camp Director and Manager informed on activities, problems, and concerns on an on-going basis.
* Assists with the development and implementation of camp emergency procedures and drills including an accurate up-to-date daily listing of all individuals at the camp facility.
* Ensures and maintains professional camper/staff relationships.
* Participates in opening and closing procedures of the camp season.
* Ensures that all health, safety and program standards are followed at all times in compliance with ACA, Council policy, Girl Scout Safety Activity Check Point Standards, and State Laws and regulations.
* Supervises the bus transportation system for the camp.
* Works with camper registration files keeping records, generating reports and other required lists.
* Other duties as assigned
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
* Must be 20 years of age or older
* 2 years plus experience in an office environment with experience in customer service, excel and word documents, emails, cash reconciliation and heavy phone use.
* High School graduate or equivalent. Associate or Bachelor's Degree in business, accounting, or camp management preferred.

* Show the willingness to abide by the policies and practices of Girl Scouts of Connecticut.
* First Aid/CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Medication Administration Certification must be obtained upon being hired
* The ideal candidate will possess successful office management experience and a desire to work in the out of doors.
* Experience working with children a plus
* Demonstrates good judgment in anticipating and preventing accidents, and possess the ability to make sound decisions in a crisis.

Physical Aspects of the Job:
* Ability to effectively communicate.
* Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
* Ability to work in extreme environmental conditions and to walk on uneven terrain.
* Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards of the site and facilities and camper and staff behavior.
* Ability to provide first aid and to assist campers and staff in an emergency with a clear and level head
* Must attend at least 1 of 2 optional Camper overnights on Week 2 and 4, as applicable
