REPORTS TO: Director of Buildings and Grounds JOB DESCRIPTION: The following statements of essential functions and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. Actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending on building assignment and other factors determined with supervisor and/or building principal. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Custodial:
- Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and buff floors as needed.
- Empty trash and recycling bins and properly dispose of waste.
- Clean and disinfect surfaces, including desks, tables, and door handles.
- Restock restroom supplies and ensure all areas are fully equipped.
- Perform light maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and unclogging drains.
- Respond promptly to emergency cleaning needs, such as spills or accidents.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities as required.
- Perform other custodial duties as assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds or District Custodial Supervisor.
- Grounds:
- Maintain outdoor areas, including mowing lawns, trimming bushes, and removing weeds.
- Clear walkways of snow, ice, and debris to ensure safe access to school buildings.
- Perform routine maintenance on groundskeeping equipment, such as lawn mowers and leaf blowers.
- Monitor and report any issues with playgrounds, parking lots, and athletic fields.
- Assist with seasonal tasks, such as leaf removal in the fall and planting in the spring.
Working Conditions:
- The position requires physical effort, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
- The work environment may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
