We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Day Porter to join our team. For the facilities team, safety, comfort, and functionality are our focus. We are seeking a new team member to continue growing and managing the balance of our team to fit the needs of the church.
As a Day Porter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our church facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and readiness for our congregation and visitors. Your primary responsibilities will include providing immediate hospitality, managing laundry services, custodial duties, and attending to various other nuanced tasks.
Responsibilities· Provide immediate hospitality by greeting members and guests, making coffee, opening doors, and ensuring lights and lamps are on.
· Ensure occupant comfort by setting up coffee areas and tidying up rooms between uses.
· Manage laundry services for altar linens, tablecloths, robes, and microfiber cleaning supplies.
· Perform custodial duties with a weekly routine and be willing to do cleanup after hours or weekends for events and projects.
· Assist with food and drink service, flower maintenance, and hearing station upkeep.
· Vacuum entry rugs daily and touch up clean and restock all restrooms daily.
· Collect robes for laundering weekly, clean administrative and restroom buildings weekly, and clean designated areas weekly.
· Represent the church in a professional and hospitable manner during various church services and events
· Maintain general tidiness in the laundry room and supplies room
· Clean windows, windowed doors, and high traffic touched areas as needed
· Perform deep cleaning in other areas
Skills· Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work preferred
· Ability to work independently and efficiently
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
· Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed
