The Day Program DSP will assist the ISS Supervisor/Manager with individual care at the facility based on the policies, procedures, and quality of service required.
Responsibilities and Duties - Directs personal assistance with daily living activities of individuals (grooming, eating, and personal hygiene)
- Reinforces counseling and therapy activities as directed by Supervisor.
- Ensures the health and safety of all individuals by identifying and correcting safety hazards
- Provides assistance with medications and performs tasks delegated by a Registered Nurse
- Documents incidents involving individuals at the facility
- Provides daily reports to the Supervisor that outline accomplishments and objectives met daily
- Creates and maintains an atmosphere conducive to the habilitation of the individuals served
- Responsible for cleanliness of facility including cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, sitting rooms and kitchen
- Maintains regular attendance and timeliness in duties
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills - Good communication skills
- Knowledge of the HCS and MRLA programs
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Minimum of 1 year with individuals with developmental disabilities
