The Production Lead will perform an essential and unique role during his/her normal course of duty, including but not limited to maintaining line production to maximize output with minimal scrap. While the Shift Supervisor is present, the Production Lead will take the lead role in first shot quality inspections, changeovers, break reliefs, and troubleshooting. The Production Lead will act as backup supervisor in the absence of the Shift Supervisor.
Responsibilities
* Follow all Company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance. Perform duties in a safe manner and report all observed safety hazards to management. Act as a role model for Safety on the shift. Participate in safety programs by reporting Unsafe Conditions, Unsafe Acts and Close Calls; enter Near Miss data and Observations into Global Data Center database (GDC).
* Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
* Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
* Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws
* Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.
* Assist and/or Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc..) in the absence of the Supervisor.
* Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.
* Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.
* Responsible for checking all line paperwork.
* Provides production floor leadership
* Monitors and corrects safety issues
* Performs 1st Piece Quality Inspection on all changeovers
* Provides break relief to machine operators as needed
* Completes necessary paperwork including; Production Reports, Work Orders, Quality forms, etc.
* Follows AIB Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) per written procedures and practices.
* Directs housekeeping tasks
* Other tasks as assigned by Management or Supervisor.
Qualifications
* High School Diploma or GED required
* Knowledge/experience of injection molding, recycling procedures and profiles or resins and their properties
* Mechanical aptitude/experience for troubleshooting
* Ability to lift up to 50lbs
* Strong communication, organizational, problem solving, teamwork interpersonal and leadership skills
* Must be able to work 12-hr shift schedule (including nights & weekends)
* Proficient computer skills
* Positive attitude & good work ethic
* Previous manufacturing experience preferred
* Quality focused
* Excellent Safety record and mindset
* Strong verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate accurately and professionally with all levels of the organization
