Salary : $50,003.20 - $67,662.40 AnnuallyLocation : Marysville, OHJob Type: Full-TimeJob Number: DD Community Inclusion CoordOffice: Board of Developmental DisabilitiesOpening Date: 01/06/2025Closing Date: 1/20/2025 11:59 PM EasternWork Schedule: Hours: 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (Flexible schedule upon supervisory approval); Additional hours as required to meet the operational needs of the Board. 300 days probation.DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:Under the general supervision of the Community Connections Manager, the UCBDD Community Inclusion Coordinator will:
  • Connect eligible individuals of all ages to the local community
  • Help to foster a culture of inclusion by identifying and creating opportunities for social engagement for individuals with and without developmental disabilities.
  • Assist in the development and facilitation of community-based training to promote awareness and inclusion of people with developmental disabilities among existing entities and organizations.
  • Develop and support self-advocacy initiatives in partnership with Self-Advocacy Consultant.
  • At all times, the Community Inclusion Coordinator must strive to meet the UCBDD published Mission Statement and exemplify the UCBDD defined Core Values.
QUALIFICATIONS QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or Business related field
  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
Credential/License:
  • None Required
Other:
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Maintain a valid Ohio Driver's License if operating a personal vehicle for official agency business.
  • Acceptable Ohio and BCI background checks required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:Evaluation of this position is based primary on the performance of the following essential functions, including but not limited to:1. Identify, encourage and facilitate participation by individuals served by UCBDD in community organized events and activities. Advocate for inclusion and accessibility when applicable.2. Assist in the development and implementation of community-based inclusion and awareness education and training for local businesses, organizations, and groups.3. Support individuals with developmental disabilities with self-advocacy opportunities and initiatives4. Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations to foster a culture of inclusion in the local community5. Create forms and track data to monitor quality and efficacy of initiatives.6. Comply with UI/MUI reporting requirements7. Other duties as assignedSUCCESS FACTORS:To successfully perform this job, the following training, knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:Required Training: All UCBDD employees shall be required to complete all general mandatory training. These include, but are not limited to:
  • Blood-borne pathogens, emergency communications, hazardous communications, slips/trips/falls, personal protective equipment, sexual harassment, drug-f ree workplace, violence in the workplace, MUI and fire prevention.
  • Must obtain and maintain Board approved behavior support and crisis intervention training.
Knowledge:
  • Proficient with computers and applicable software
  • Ability to use general office equipment and technology
  • Ability to perform basic math functions
  • Working knowledge and understanding of behavior support, individualized service plans, medical, psychosocial, orthopedic, and psychiatric aspect of developmental disability.
  • Working knowledge of client rights, federal, state, and local programs and HIPAA.
  • Knowledge of applicable statutes, regulatory standards and reporting authorities.
Communication Skills:
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Must be skilled in group facilitation, conflict resolution, crisis intervention and working through complex problem situations.
Other:
  • Must possess a positive customer service attitude and image in the community at all times, to all stakeholder groups.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively and effectively with other agencies, professionals, staff, families and the public.
  • Good leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to keep accurate records.
  • Must be able to tolerate the high demands of the position. Employee may be exposed to adverse weather conditions while driving and may be exposed to blood -borne pathogens, communicable diseases, potentially infectious materials and/or aggressive behavior.
  • May be required to occasionally work hours outside of typical business hours, including evenings and weekends.

Employee is to report suspected or actual abuse/neglect, to follow the chain of command and to work effectively and cooperatively with others inside/outside the agency.
