This transformative service leader should have a leadership style thatis inclusive and collegial as well as senior or executive experience inplanning and the management of human, fiscal and intellectual resources withina complex higher education environment.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSSTRATEGY/VISION
  • Ensures academic relevance, excellence in instruction and quality educational facilities so students are provided with a well-rounded education and skills leading to meaningful career opportunities
  • Upholds the school's academic standards that nurture students' educational journeys to successful completion
  • Develops college-wide strategic enrollment management for the School of Creative Arts including the recruitment, retention, persistence, completion, and postgraduate success of students
  • Provides college-wide leadership for the School of Creative Arts to develop new and emerging programs/credentials in multiple learning modalities, and ensuring seamless pathways between credit and non-credit programs
  • Develops and maintains partnerships to strengthen pathways for K-12, 2 and 4-year institutions, community organizations and industry
  • Ensures the development of marketing and communication plans to increase and enhance the internal and external community awareness and perception of the School of Creative Arts
COLLABORATIVELEADERSHIP
  • Oversees programs such as interior design, film and media arts, web and interactive media, illustration, and photography
  • Proactively partners with internal and external stakeholders to assesses new and current program opportunities related to program portfolio viability including feasibility, sustainability and growth within NE Ohio
  • Facilitates the development and implementation of innovative teaching methodology, including the application of technology to instruction
  • Provides leadership in the development and execution of external grants supporting both credit and non-credit programs
  • Provides college-wide leadership for partnerships with businesses, non-profits, and government organizations aimed at expanding experiential learning opportunities within curricula programs to enable students to develop transferable skills and explore diverse career options
ADMINISTRATIVE
  • Oversees the preparation and submission of reports required for performance measures, federal and state reporting, program reviews, curricula and assessment plans, and accreditation processes to ensure they are timely and accurate
  • Responsible for budget oversight for the School of Creative Arts, seeking innovative funding sources and investment opportunities.
  • Collaboratively works with Campus Presidents to ensure effective and efficient operations, safeguarding of assets and compliance with College policies and procedures, and exploring revenue-generating initiatives while ensuring fiscal responsibility.
  • Recruits and retains exceptional faculty and staff who embrace the entrepreneurial spirit and are committed to enhancing students' career prospects
  • Manages and supports the School of Creative Arts through campus based associate deans, faculty, professional development and growth opportunities for faculty and staff, faculty evaluations, and advisory committees
  • Oversees and approves the schedule development in collaboration with campus deans, associate deans and campus coordinators
  • Collaborates with the campus deans to handle and facilitate student, staff and faculty concerns
  • Ensures that the appropriate standards, principles, and rules of the Higher Learning Commission including curricular/program development, revisions, updates and all levels of student learning outcomes are addressed
  • Serves on Dean's Council and other relevant committees
  • Represents the College in professional organizations and community activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
  • Master's degree and/or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Minimum of ten years of successful and progressive experience related to the field within a college or industry setting
  • Possess a strong academic background that aligns with the diverse academic offerings, certificates, and transfer programs of the school and fully embraces their academic responsibilities
  • Possess experience in curriculum development, accreditation, program review and outcomes assessment
  • Possess experience supervising and developing faculty, administrative staff, and support staff for effective and productive performance in support of institutional goals
  • Experience and knowledge of student outcomes assessment and instructional effectiveness

  • Demonstrated commitment to student success, faculty development, outcome-based education, and to enhancing teaching and learning
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and create impact with ability to think both strategically and operationally

  • Demonstrated ability to articulate inter-textual and interdisciplinary needs of students and industry and the impact on creating and enhancing educational training programs in film, media, visual, and recording arts
  • Ability to engage others in developing and implementing an academic vision
  • Knowledge of current and future trends related to the regional labor market and population
  • Demonstrated commitment to shared governance
  • Knowledge of curriculum design and evaluation
  • Proven record of building relationships with internal and external constituents
  • Ability to adapt and respond quickly to the changing needs of the organization and its internal and external constituents
  • Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Budget and resource development skills
  • Possess advanced-level skills with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity
  • Demonstrate experience working effectively to enhance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
  • Doctorate degree
  • Experience working in the community and with community outreach
  • Teaching experience at the college level in one or more academic areas
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Evidence of grant-writing and/or fundraising skills
