Working Title: Dean of Academic Service, Support and Innovation Institution: Rochester Community and Technical College Classification Title: MnSCU Administrator 6 Bargaining Unit / Union: 220: Minnesota State Administrator's Plan City: Rochester FLSA: Job Exempt Full Time / Part Time: Full time Employment Condition: Unclassified - Unlimited Academic Salary Range: $85,000.00 - $136,000.00 Job Description This position leads academic services, support and innovation, guiding service areas in carrying out the respective strategic plan priorities including Goddard Library, Learning Center, Phi Theta Kappa and The Echo (student newspaper) as well as developing and executing student success initiatives. In addition, this position leads innovation in K-12 collaborations to create pathways to post-secondary education. The Dean works with faculty and staff and is highly collaborative across many academic disciplines and college divisions. Additionally, the Dean's responsibilities involve working with community organizations, business and industry, workforce development and other entities to understand and address local and regional educational needs. Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in education, or related field
  • Three years teaching and/or administration experience at post-secondary level
  • Leadership or supervisory experience that required accountability for department, unit, function, program, or team/student results.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, student success initiatives and/or Developmental education
  • Ability to conceptualize and manage detailed implementation; ability to effectively execute objectives in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Experience in budgeting, contract, and grant management in an education setting
  • Strong organizational and budgetary management skills
  • Excellent communication skills are needed for working with faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in student learning assessment and continuous quality improvement.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Ability to travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a two-year higher education environment; knowledge of college systems and collegial relationship development.
  • Progressive leadership and management experience in higher education.
  • Experience in student learning center and library services.
