Reporting to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, the Dean of Health Professions will provide leadership of the academic programs, faculty, and staff of the Division of Health Professions. The Dean will develop a strategic plan for the expansion and quality of existing programs and the development of new programs, certificates, and credentials to meet the needs of the local healthcare industry. The Dean of Health Professions will work with college stakeholders to ensure program and student outcomes are of the highest standards. Nestled in New York s picturesque Hudson River Valley, Columbia-Greene is situated in one of the Northeast s most scenic and historic regions, just 30 miles south of Albany and 110 miles north of New York City. As a rural institution, the College serves Columbia and Greene Counties, encompassing an area comparable in size to Rhode Island. The nearby towns of Catskill and Hudson thrive with vibrant arts scenes, exceptional restaurants, unique shops, and abundant recreational opportunities. Columbia-Greene Community College, a campus of the State University of New York (SUNY), is a comprehensive college offering a variety of transfer and career programs leading to the degrees of associate in arts, associate in science, associate in applied science, and associate in occupational studies, as well as microcredentials, one-year certificate programs, and specialized courses geared toward community interests. Duties and Responsibilities Continually strive to achieve the College Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Plan.Provide management oversight of the AS Nursing (RN) program and Medical Assisting degree and associated programs to ensure their continued growth and success.Implement the Practical Nurse Certificate Program.Develop new programs in the allied health professions including credit and non-credit programs.Foster partnerships with local healthcare providers, education partners, and other stakeholders to ensure C-GCC is seen as a leading provider of healthcare education in the region.Provide leadership and strategic oversight for clinical experiences and skills labs associated with the Division.Develop and implement a strategic plan for the use of simulation and new educational technologies (in conjunction with the Center for Teaching and Learning) to ensure the student experience and quality of programs remain excellent and competitive.Serve as the primary liaison to the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and other program-level accreditors to ensure the College remains in good-standing. Maintains program-level standards, integrity, and continuous improvement.Source funding streams to support the advancement of programs, educational technologies, and the development of Division infrastructure.Collaborate with the Dean of Enrollment Management to develop new and existing pipelines and pathways for programs in the Division.Collaborate with the Dean of Students to ensure student success outcomes are at the forefront of Division performance and development.Collaborate with the Office of Academic Affairs to ensure curriculum planning, program development, and the management of faculty meets the strategic goals of the College.Work with the Office of Academic Affairs and the Center for Teaching and Learning in the retention, evaluation, and professional development of faculty.Schedule and conduct regular meetings with the Division faculty and staff.Participate in meetings and committees as needed or as assigned by the Provost.Maintain standards, submit requested reports, and continually improve processes consistent with College, state, and accreditation requirements.Represent the College and the Division at college events and groups within the local community.Lead local advisory groups for programs within the Division.Work with Division coordinators and leads, and the Office of Academic Affairs in recommending a schedule of classes.Manage the Health Professions Division budget and grants associated with the work of the Division.Manage activities necessary to support the instructional functions of the programs, including planning, requisition of equipment, technology, materials, and other items necessary for the work of the Division.Maintain a working knowledge of state and national trends in healthcare education and higher education.Prepare and submit reports of department accomplishments, including evidence supporting the programs contributions to continued institutional effectiveness.Serve as a member of the Provost s Council.Perform other duties as assigned by the Provost. Minimum RequirementsMaster s degree in a relevant field, nursing preferred.Currently licensed as a nurse in NYS.Two years of experience in higher education as a faculty member and an administrator.Experience working in a clinical environment. Preferred qualificationsDoctoral degree in relevant field.3-5 years of progressive administrative experience in higher education. Salary and Benefits InformationAnnual 12-month salary is $90-95K and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
