Job DescriptionPOSITION: The Dean of Students is responsible for administration and leadership of the Offices of Student Services. The Dean of Students works collaboratively and creatively with other university leaders to maintain and improve a living and learning environment conducive to student success. The Dean reports directly to the President of the university.The Dean provides oversight for areas including campus housing, student activities, student government, student organizations, judicial affairs related to student conduct, student development, disability services, the Aggie Rec Center, the Student Wellness Center, and community events and actives. The Dean enhances the quality of student life through the development and coordination of co-curricular programs in support of student learning and student success on campus and in the community. The Dean has managerial responsibility for the supervision, evaluation, and training of professional and classified support staff as well as responsibility for the development and administration of the budget for the Office of Student Services.The position is available August 1, 2024.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:• An earned master's degree in student affairs, educational leadership, or related field from a regionally accredited institution• Five years of relevant, progressively responsible experience in student services or related activities at a college or university• Commitment to student success, collegial decision making, and collaborative leadership• Demonstrated effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills• Demonstrated effectiveness in working with a diverse student, employee, and community populationPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:• An earned doctorate in student affairs, educational leadership, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution• At least three years of administrative experience in a college or university environment• Demonstrated experience cooperating or integrating student services with academic affairsSALARY RANGE: Commensurate with university standards, educational background, and experience.BENEFITS:Cameron University offers a wide variety of comprehensive programs to benefit our employees.
