We seek an experienced and visionary leader to advance the School's mission of being the School of Choice for students desiring an ethically-based, high quality, socially minded business education. The School blends transformative education, executive-based learning, and the Dominican ideals of study, service, spirituality, and community in preparing students for a meaningful professional and personal life.Position Overview:The Dean is the chief academic and administrative officer of the School of Business and will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, fostering academic excellence, promoting scholarly and professional growth, and enhancing community and industry partnerships. The Dean reports directly to the Provost and serves as a key member of the University's academic leadership team. The Dean will play a pivotal role in advancing the School's reputation regionally and nationally, ensuring continuous improvement in academic programs, supporting faculty and student success, and contributing to the University's broader mission and strategic plan.   • Provide strategic direction and oversight for all academic programs within the School of Business, including undergraduate, graduate, and professional development offerings.
  • Lead efforts to recruit, develop, and retain talented faculty who are dedicated to teaching excellence, research, community engagement, and service.
  • Foster active faculty involvement in research, publication and grant funding.
  • Foster an inclusive and collaborative environment that supports diversity, equity, and inclusion among faculty, staff, and students.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance student enrollment, retention, and success in partnership with University leadership.
  • Strengthen partnerships with business leaders, alumni, and other stakeholders to promote the School's visibility.
  • Work with the University's advancement team to identify and obtain support to bolster the School's facilities and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with standards of the International Accreditation Council for Business Accreditation (IACBE). Direct filing of IACBE interim and maintenance of accreditation reports.
  • Manage budgets and allocate resources to support sustainable growth and program development of the School.
  • Represent the School of Business in University-wide initiatives and decision-making processes as part of the senior academic leadership team.
Qualifications:
  • A PhD, DBA or equivalent terminal degree in business or a related field.
  • A record of scholarly achievement, teaching, and professional service commensurate with the rank of full professor.
  • Significant Higher Education experience and a proven track record of leadership in a complex environment are highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated success in academic leadership, with experience in program development, accreditation, faculty development, student success and retention, adult education and resource management.
  • A commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive academic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative leadership style.
  • A demonstrated ability to engage and partner with external organizations and stakeholders, including alumni, industry leaders, and funding agencies, to identify emerging trends and opportunities that can shape new programs and partnerships.
Salary Information:When determining the salary offer for a new employee, Molloy considers several key characteristics such as job knowledge, skills, and experience as well as internal and external equity. The hiring annual salary range for this position is $230,000 to $255,000. This annual salary represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting. Since arriving at Molloy, Dr. Lentini initiated the development of Molloy's first-ever Strategic Enrollment Management Plan and new Strategic Plan and worked with leaders in the state to ensure Molloy's transition from college to university. Dr. Piskulich has broad experience in faculty affairs, governance, DEI, planning, and strategic programming and is a nationally recognized academic leader, having served as President of the Network of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA) and chair of the Commission on Peer Review and Accreditation (COPRA). At Molloy, Dr. Piskulich increased focus on student success, increased deans' authority, initiated principal investigator training for faculty, started a review of the governance structure and promotion and tenure, and worked with deans to develop numerous new programs.The School of BusinessThe School of Business offers degrees in accounting, business analytics, economics, entertainment and sports management, finance, management and marketing as well as a robust Business Honors program at the undergraduate level. The School also offers the Master of Business Administration in accounting, business analytics, finance, healthcare administration, management, and marketing as well as several advanced certificates and badges. The School employs an executive-based learning model where all faculty, in addition to their academic credentials, have significant business experience. Experiential learning is a key focus. All students are required to complete an internship and credentialing opportunities are embedded into many courses.
