Profile

A law firm in Washington, DC, seeks a Debt Finance (Energy and Infrastructure) Associate Attorney. This role represents lenders and borrowers in financing transactions across the energy and infrastructure sectors. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in complex domestic and international debt financing arrangements and project documentation.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate various financing documents, including credit agreements, depositary agreements, note purchase agreements, and security documents.
  • Review and draft project-related commercial documents pertinent to energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Advise clients on the legal aspects of financing transactions in both domestic and international arenas.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including financial institutions, corporate entities, and government bodies, to ensure seamless transaction executions.
  • Conduct legal research and provide legal opinions on matters related to debt finance.
  • Assist in developing and structuring acquisition finance transactions, particularly within the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Requirements:

  • 2-6 years of experience in debt finance with a well-regarded national or international law firm.
  • Demonstrated experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors, focusing on financing and project documentation.
  • Proven track record of drafting and negotiating complex financing documents.
  • Experience with acquisition finance in the energy and infrastructure fields is highly desirable.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Washington, DC, or eligible for admission without examination.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • An active member of the Bar in good standing in Washington, DC.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
