JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition Title: Utility Department: Dancing Eagle Casino Diner Employment Classification: Non-Exempt Position Summary/General Description: The Utility maintains the cleanliness of kitchen areas, service ware, preparation equipment, utensils, and disposal of waste while ensuring a safe, clean and efficient operation. Expectations:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, related facilities and equipment including but not limited to: dish room/service area floors, loading dock area, walls, dollies, floor mats, carts, trash cans, dish machine and cardboard/garbage compactors.
  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and all other items related to the restaurant operation. Organize and replace sanitized service ware in appropriate location for future use while returning items not satisfactorily cleaned for a second wash.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and care of culinary facilities, equipment, supplies, and materials.
  • Must be poised to handle a fast paced environment with multiple tasks under time constraint. Must be able to handle a heavy business volume in a timely manner.
  • Wears proper clothing, gloves, and/or uniform.
  • Analyze situations and data and take appropriate action regarding equipment usage.
  • Effectively communicate with management, chefs and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other employees.
  • Understand and follow safety procedures.
  • Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
  • Meet department productivity standards.
  • Be a team player (e.g., work toward team goals and foster a collaborative and positive work environment; put the team first; assist coworkers; treat all coworkers with kindness, courtesy and respect; never engage in negativity; maintain openness to coaching, learning and improving; receptive to change and willingness to embrace challenges with team-spirit).
  • At all times maintain a courteous, positive and professional working relationship with all LDC personnel and the general public (e.g., coworkers, clients and vendors).
  • Work under pressure; maintain regular and punctual attendance including working odd and unusual hours, weekends and holidays.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Relevant work experience preferred.
Licensing & Certification:
  • None.
Computer Equipment, Software, Machinery:
  • Operate kitchen equipment and compactors (e.g., dish machine, cardboard/garbage compactor).
Essential Physical Requirements:
  • The job requires the ability to crouch/stoop, hear, kneel, reach overhead, stand, talk, turn/twist, and walk 51-100% of the time.
  • The job requires the ability to push/pull, carry, lift and slide/transfer 1-25 lbs. 51-100% of the time.
  • The job requires the ability to balance/climb and bend over 25-50% of the time.
  • The job requires the ability to push/pull, carry, lift and slide/transfer up to 50+ lbs. 25-50% of the time.
Essential Mental Demands:
  • The job requires the ability to organize and plan 51-100% of the time.
  • The job requires the ability to problem solve and make decisions 25-50% of the time.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None.
Work Environment (inside/outside):
  • The job is performed indoors with exposure to hot temperatures and loud noises and occasional exposure to confined areas and cold temperatures.
Other Requirements:
  • Must pass a pre-employment alcohol/drug screen.
