The Workforce Analytic Solution team is responsible for developing analytics to support or automate recurring decisions in an objective, data-driven manner to improve field labor decisions. This team is responsible forelevating our highest-stake, largest-impact decisions with advanced analytic insights and solutions.As the Decision Scientist of Workforce Analytic Solutions, you will work with functional partners to identify our roadmap of analytic solutions to develop, work cross functionally with functional stakeholders, data science and technology teams to move our solutions through the analytics lifecycle and then drive adoption of the solutions. This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. What will you do- Work directly with the workforce enablement team, Finance and other technical teams to identify analytic solutions and help prioritize the most critical solutions to develop.
- Help manage workforce solutions through the analytic lifecycle (discovery, proof of concept, pilot, production).
- Work with cross-functional partners to define the solutions, manage expectations and drive adoption.
- Project manage the teams that do the development and maintenance of our solutions.
- Lead the discovery phase to size the potential impact of solutions.
- For each project, assist in scoping the work, co-creating solutions with the data science team, creating presentation-ready material, and sharing out to the end client.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, economics, management, supply chain)
- 2 years of relevant experience applying analytics to solve business related problems
- Working knowledge of various analytic methods (i.e., data analysis, statistics, operations research and/or machine learning) with application to business problems
- Hands-on experience using data analytics tools (i.e., SQL, Python, R)
Preferred Qualifications- 1 year of project management experience
- 1 year of experience using SQL to solve business problems
- Working knowledge of optimization, simulation, data mining algorithms including machine learning techniques such as decision trees, neural networks, clustering, regression, etc.
- Experience working with globally distributed team
- Hands-on experience working in big data environments and using visualization tools to explore data and present insights
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a business relationship with a client, consistently driving forward the work
- 2 years of retail experience
