The Position:
British Swim School of Buffalo is looking for a fun-loving individual to grow our team of Deck Ambassadors!
Deck Ambassadors at British Swim School of Buffalo run efficient site operations focused on the customer service and retention. Strict adherence to British Swim School policies and procedures ensure that customers' expectations are met and exceeded.
Roles and Responsibilities:
+ Report to and communicate directly with the Aquatics Manager or Franchise Business Owner.
+ Must be present and properly dressed in British Swim School uniform at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the first lesson of your shift.
+ Create a positive first impression and facilitate proper orientation for new customers.
+ Learn how to use the British Swim School app and encourage customers to use the app.
+ Ensure proper set up, maintenance, and break down of on-site marketing materials, merchandise, and equipment.
+ Clean and organize all appropriate equipment and materials at the end of every shift.
+ Ensure merchandise inventory is maintained and properly displayed with pricing and all inventory orders and sales are correctly recorded in the POS (Jackrabbit) system.
+ Check in students for swim class and ensure that they are placed with the proper instructor and their names are included on the lesson board.
+ Facilitate move-ups with photographs and proper take-home materials.
+ Celebrate birthdays and milestones appropriately both at the pool and through social media when possible.
+ Take and post appropriate photos and videos to social media and encourage customers to follow, like, comment, and share.
+ Manage class schedules, attendance, and lesson board.
+ Ensure Water Watchers program is deployed at all locations and appropriate events.
+ Attend staff meetings and training/coaching sessions as requested by the Aquatics Manager or Franchise Business Owner.
+ Answer all customer questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner and resolve complaints and issues as they arise. Keep Aquatics Manager or Franchise Business Owner informed of customer interactions as appropriate.
+ Promote sales for new enrollments, additional classes, and siblings.
+ Assist instructors from the pool deck during lessons as needed.
+ Ensure that all areas of the pool deck are kept safe and clean and all pool safety regulations, policies, and procedures are being followed at all times.
+ Document and report accidents and injuries to the apropriae supervisor as soon as possible.
+ Check all water quality, temperature, and chemical levels prior to the first scheduled class of the day and recheck periodically during the shift.
+ Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
+ Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high.
+ Other responsibilities as assigned by the Aquatics Manager or Franchise Business Owner.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ High school diploma, equivalent, or in the process of completion.
+ Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
+ Enthusiastic personality.
+ Reliable.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience working with children.
+ Customer service skills: 1 year preferred.
+ Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) preferred (but can be obtained during training)

Compensation: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

While we teach swimming to people of all ages and abilities, most of our students are preschool and elementary-aged kids. Our instructors should like working with this age group and be good at making parents feel comfortable. It's helpful if you have experience with children or in a child-focused job, but it's not required if you can show the right attitude. The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach.
We also have exciting opportunities with our Customer Service Team, even if you're not in the pool. These are the people committed to providing the best service in the industry. In these roles, you might talk to parents on the phone or by the pool. Wherever you are, the aim is to make everyone feel like part of the British Swim School Family as we focus on ensuring the Survival of the Littlest.
