We seek an experienced Government Defence Contract Specialist with a proven track record in securing government defence contracts, particularly in Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in navigating the federal government contracting landscape and a strong ability to write successful proposals that win contracts.
As a key team member, you will work closely with small businesses to identify opportunities and develop compelling proposals that effectively highlight our capabilities and align with government needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Opportunity Identification: Monitor SAM.gov and other platforms to identify relevant defence contract opportunities.
- Networking & Relationship Building: Attend government defence trade shows and leverage LinkedIn to foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the government contracting space.
- Proposal Development: Collaborate with internal teams to refine the proposal process and create winning submissions that clearly present our value proposition.
- Proposal Library Development: Build and maintain a scalable proposal library to streamline the proposal process and facilitate content reuse.
- Content Creation: Write clear, concise, and persuasive content for proposals that align with government requirements and effectively showcase our strengths.
- Mentorship & Guidance: Provide expert advice to small businesses on best practices for winning federal contracts and navigating the proposal process.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all proposals comply with government regulations and adhere to quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in securing government defence contracts, with a focus on small businesses.
- Previous experience with major defence contractors is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of the SBIR program and its application process.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Proficiency in proposal management software and tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
