Project Manager -DefenseBUSINESS: DefenseLOCATION: Monroe, NCDIRECT REPORTING: Operations Manager - DefenseDOTTED LINE: NoneFUNCTIONAL REPORTING: Defense OperationsPOSITION DETAILS Position Summary Lead cross functional teams in the management of strategic projects to meet customer requirements and CIRCOR business objectives. The Project Manager directs functional team members to meet the technical and commercial objectives of the contract as well as business results.KEY SUCCESS DELIVERABLES
  • Deliver projects on-time, within budget, and to specification.
  • Build and lead effective, self-managed cross functional teams.
  • Create complex, multi-level plans with identified interdependencies.
  • Document project results and monitor performance metrics.
  • Establish clear communication with clients and internal teams. Document project issues and client negotiations and clarifications.
  • Responsibilities
    • Lead cross-functional teams from project scoping through delivery of all project objectives.
    • Establish meeting cadence to create team alignment and ownership.
    • Publish project meeting minutes including action items and status.
    • Facilitate development of functional area plans and create integrated project plans and schedules.
    • Work with functional leadership to insure adequate resources are assigned to project teams to meet all project deliverables.
    • Manage project schedules using critical path methodologies.
    • Lead risk assessment of schedule, financial and technical requirements; create risk mitigation and contingency plans.
    • Track project progress and publish key metrics, and status reports as required.
    • Negotiate changes to project scope of work with the client and key subcontractors; insure changes are incorporated into schedule, and additional costs are identified and recovered.
    • Perform timely communication of project status to all stakeholders.
    • Conduct milestone reviews and executive status meetings as required.
    • Lead risk assessment of schedule, financial and technical requirements; create risk mitigation and contingency plans.
    • Track project progress and publish key metrics, and status reports as required.
    • Build cross-functional engagement of CIRCOR Project Management System.
    • Negotiate changes to project scope of work with the client and key subcontractors; insure changes are incorporated into schedule, and additional costs are identified and recovered.
    Job Requirements:CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSSKILLS
    • Effective planning, communication and presentation skills
    • The ability to forge strong relationships with business partners.
    • Excellent conflict management skills.
    • Ability to navigate ambiguous situations and create clarity and alignment.
    • A responsive customer-focused mind-set driven to meet both external and internal customer needs.
    • An action-oriented approach to managing responsibilities, which results in meeting challenging time-bound objectives.
    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
    • BS degree in Business, Engineering or related field.
    • Prior experience collaborating with defense contractors as customers is highly desirable.
    • Proven track record of managing projects ranging from $500K to $5.0M in size.
    • Min of 5 years of experience managing projects, and leading cross-functional teams.
    • Management of global projects desired.
    • PMP certification is a plus.
    • Knowledge of the oil & gas, power generation markets is a plus.
    • Strong skills in Microsoft Project
    • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, IFS, JDEdwards, Oracle)
