Job Description:
Job Responsibilities
  • Assists with the development and maintenance of the Academic Advisement module of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions based on input from academic and administrative stakeholders.
  • Assist with annual review of curriculum changes for all programs of study. Works with the Office of the Provost and University Publication to update curriculum in SIS and the Programs of Study website for the upcoming academic school year.
  • Codes academic degree requirements into the Student Information System to produce real-time, electronic degree progress reports.
  • Ensures and monitors the accuracy of degree audit reports. Troubleshoots, researches and resolves issues/concerns presented by students, staff, faculty and administrative users.
  • Participates in training sessions to faculty, staff and students
  • Manages the course substitution process including hiring, training, and managing 2-3 student employees.
  • Provides day-to-day upkeep and documentation of all program changes
  • Assists with testing of local software customizations as well as all aspects of implementations and upgrades to the Academic Advisement module.
  • Exhibits a strong working knowledge and the ability to interpret all applicable university policies and procedures, FERPA and federal guidelines protecting academic records.
  • Performs other tasks and special projects as requested

  • 1-3 years experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Skills:
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with internet applications and MS Office
  • Must possess strong analytical and creative problem solving skills
  • Excellent collaboration skills coupled with the ability to work autonomously; ability to make independent judgements or decisions with minimal direction; and excellent written and oral communication skills preferred.
  • This position requires strong attention to detail balanced with the need to complete tasks in a timely manner.

  • Master's Degree
  • Previous experience with Oracle Campus Solutions Academic Advisement Module or similar student information system (u.Achieve, DegreeWorks, etc) strongly desired.

In conjunction with the Assistant Registrar for Degree Audit and Course Planning, this position is responsible for mapping, building, and maintaining degree programs and requirements (general education, majors, minors, certificates, etc.) in the Academic Advisement module of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions. This position will train and guide end users in the use of the degree audit system and in the resolution of problems and issues.
