$23.06 - $32.29

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

Serves as principal assistant to the Registrar, SMD and to the Associate Dean for Student Affairs with administrative duties in the general operation of the Medical School Registrar's Office and the Associate Dean's Student Affairs Office. Manages specialized support functions for these areas.

The Degree Audit Specialist coordinates the development and maintenance of the University?s academic degree audit system to ensure high quality Academic Advising/Degree Audit services for students, faculty, and staff. In conjunction with the Associate Registrar for Degree Audit and Course Planning, is responsible for mapping, building, and maintaining degree programs and requirements (Rochester curriculum, majors, minors, clusters, certificates, etc.) in the Academic Progress module of Workday (UR Student). Assists with training and guide end users (students, faculty and advisors) in the use of the degree audit system and in the resolution of issues and problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Records Management, including but not limited to:

* Based on input from academic and administrative stakeholders, assists with the development and maintenance of academic progress and student course planning tools on behalf of the Office of the University Registrar.

* Configures academic degree requirements into UR Student (Student Information System) to produce real-time, electronic degree progress reports used by students, faculty and staff across the University.

* Works with Academic Department Chairs and Associate Dean's to identify the data, information, and operational needs of end users and other stakeholders as the needs to relate to the automated degree audit system and curriculum planning.

* Ensures and monitors the accuracy of degree audit reports. Performs academic course substitutions and exceptions with the approval of department chairs. Documents all systemic program changes.

* Assists with academic program and undergraduate bulletin update process as it relates to the Office of the Registrar.

* Serves as the main point of contact for degree audit inquiries.

* Manages the major/minor revision process.

* Participates in training sessions provided for faculty, staff, and students.

System Management, including but not limited to:

* Troubleshoots, researches, and resolves issues/concerns presented by students, staff, faculty and administrative users.

* Assists with testing of local software customizations as well as all aspects of implementations and upgrades to the Academic Progress module.

Office Administration, including but not limited to:

* Hires, trains and supervises student employees working on the degree audit system.

* Maintains strong working knowledge of and provides interpretation of all applicable university policies and procedures, FERPA and federal guidelines protecting academic records.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree

* 1 year of experience in registration; or equivalent combination of education and experience

* Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and interface with various university stakeholders and constituents

* Ability to maintain confidentiality

* Exceptional organizational, time management and administrative skills. Keen attention to detail.

* Strong communication skills

* Ability to coordinate multiple diverse projects and set realistic deadlines and timelines

* Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work effectively as part of a team

* Ability to resolve problems independently

* Strong technical skills, including a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office

* Previous experience with Academic Progress/Degree Audit or similar student information system (u.Achieve, DegreeWorks, Banner, PeopleSoft, Datatel, etc.) preferred
