Cozen O'Connor's Wilmington, Delaware office is currently seeking an experienced litigation paralegal to provide valuable support the busy Delaware Litigation Practice Group. The position requires a professional team player who works well independently, can multi-task efficiently and has the abilityto communicate and interact effectively with attorneys, co-workers, clients and court staff. We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 3 years of experience, possessing robust organizational and interpersonal skills to adeptly manage and prioritize diverse tasks, as well as expertise in Delaware state and federal court filings, including Court of Chancery. The perfect candidate thrives in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, demonstrating the ability to efficiently balance multiple responsibilities. Flexibility is key. This role would be a good fit for someone who is interested in starting their workday later in the morning and working until early evening given that sometimes filings need to occur after 5 p.m. As part of our commitment to fostering work-life balance, we offer a hybrid work schedule that allows paralegals to spend 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely. Though the ideal candidate would be able to work out of our Wilmington, DE office, working out of other Cozen offices and/or a fully remote option might be available for the right candidate, as long as the paralegal has familiarity with Delaware courts, practice, and filings. Qualifications and Skills:
- Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation
- Assist in preparing and filing (including e-filing) of complex legal documents in all Delaware state and federal courts
- Lead subpoena and third-party records retrieval efforts
- Case file management (create, organize, track and maintain files; monitor calendars and meeting deadlines; document actions; input information into file database and case management software)
- Document management including but not limited to review of documents, proofreading, bates labeling, organization of documents and compiling information for discovery responses, pleadings, and motions
- Perform factual research and investigation
- Draft correspondence and memoranda
- Trial preparation and attendance at trial (organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, scheduling witnesses, ensuring that witnesses are ready when needed)
- Case management
- Knowledge of Best Case, Relativity, DeskSite (iManage), Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PACER/ECF, and File&ServeXpress websites preferred.
- Knowledge of legal software including West Law and LexisNexis preferred.
- A bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate is required.
