Job Description:

Benefits - Employee Stock (ESOP), 401K, PTO, Insurance, Salary $52,000-$60,000 year. Bonus potential.

The Perishables Specialist provides strong leadership and maintains a high level of communication between store support and store staff. The meat & produce specialist position is responsible for planning and implementing sales, marketing and product development programs, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new markets by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Assists in cultivating talent to grow within our Company. This includes, but is not limited to, participation in the review process and corrective action planning for perishable team members.

· Meets with vendors to negotiate deals and maintain business relationships

· Weekly participation in the ad process which includes, but is not limited to, ad support, invoicing and bill backs and attending food shows for proper buying

· Responsible to assist in developing and following through with projects within the Deli and Bakery departments

· Responsible to assist the Deli and Bakery departments in achieving and maintaining budgeted sales, gross profits, supplies and labor.

· Assist with or oversees the monthly inventory process in the Deli and Bakery departments

· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages and accurate pricing

· Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports

· Attend quarterly meetings to report department results with store managers and support team

· Assists in developing annual budget

· Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.

· Able to effectively present information to top management and public groups

· Participate in developing and maintaining the “Perishables standards”

· Set seasonal merchandising and POP standards

· Communicate product and variety best practices for all holiday/seasonal sets

· Coordinate and communicate event marketing details for all departments

· Oversee Deli and Bakery supply sourcing and SKUs

· Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities

· Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

· High school graduate. Associate's degree in business or related experience in the field preferred.

· Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a leadership role within a perishable department.

· Microsoft Office proficiency required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

· Proficiency in business writing and email communication. Adheres to an expectation of professional tone and presence when working with all departments and their respective teams.
