General Purpose:The purpose of the Assistant Deli Manager is to oversee the entire operation of the deli while completing the daily required work involving customer service, food preparation, employee issues and being aware of preparing future orders and tasks. Responsible for the operations of the deli when the Deli Manager is not there.FLSA Status: Non-exemptJob Description:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ensure that customers receive the best customer service by providing friendly, polite, and knowledgeable service
- Greet customers and thank them for shopping at Adams
- Completing customer orders
- Food prep when necessary
- Check incoming orders for quality & quantity Unloading, rotating, stocking and displaying items
- General training of newcomers
- Assigning tasks to employees - rotating people & tasks
- Keeping abreast of upcoming sales & ordering appropriately
- Know proper procedures for Department of Health & weights & measures
- Keeping department clean
- Call in orders to distributors
- Answering phone calls
Physical Requirements:
- Punctuality
- Energetic & enthusiastic work attitude
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs. or more, especially unloading & stocking products
- Must be able to slice deli products for most of an 8 hr. shift
- Bending to lift products & to bring to disposal
- Pushing or pulling heavy loads on u-boats
