Deli Assistant Manager Just Food Co-op in Northfield, MN is looking to hire a Full-time Assistant Manager for our Deli/Cheese Department to assist in researching, developing, and costing new recipes in our Deli Department in alignment with department objectives for sales, margin, labor and customer service. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DELI ASSISTANT MANAGER An Assistant Manager of the Deli/Cheese Department is reasonable for assisting the Deli Manager with all the Deli/Cheese department needs. You will assist with coaching, mentoring, and addressing staff performance issues in a timely manner, while also training department staff on regular duties, safety, customer service, efficiency and maintain training checklists with clearly stated expectations and standards. You will work with the Deli Manager to manage food quality by ensuring processes are in place, to include forecasted food ordering, safe receiving, recipe adherence, recording and analyzing production, proper food handling, time and temperature control, and sanitation processes. Ensure food production and display areas are maintained in sanitary, orderly condition meeting health department standards. Ensure staff follow proper product rotation procedures. Ensure deli staff is tracking all loss on a waste log daily. Assist with food preparation as needed. QUALIFICATIONS

• 1-year Prior management/supervisory experience in deli/restaurant.
• 1-year Experience cooking for restaurant, food service caterer or deli.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to project an outgoing, engaging personality.
• Attention to detail & organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask.
• Ability to read and interpret financial statements including margin implications.
• Familiarity with nutrition and natural foods preferred but not required.
• Current Food Handlers license.
• Ability to clearly explain procedures and processes.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, twist, reach, and climb ladders.
• Ability to reach above shoulder height occasionally.

WORK SCHEDULE: Day time shifts 7 am to 3:30 pm, 7:30 am to 4 pm, or 8 am to 4:30 pm weekday and weekend availability. Do you love working with people? Do you thrive in a team-based environment?
