**Delivery Helper** Location **US-VA, Richmond Whse (Corp-50154)** **Delivery Helper**

**Job Summary**

Assists the Delivery Driver with insuring quality and loading product for delivery. Delivering and installing product to the satisfaction of the customer in a timely manner with no damage to the merchandise. Responsible for completing in home deliveries, safety, vehicle maintenance, and inventory security.

**Supervision Received**

Direct reporting to and supervision from the Warehouse Manager; takes direction and instruction from the Delivery Driver.

None

**Essential Functions**

Inspecting merchandise to insure customer satisfaction before the loading process begins;

Loading vehicle to secure merchandise, prevent damage during transit and expedite the delivery process;

Securing the merchandise loaded on the truck as well as all company owned property in the truck;

Assisting the Delivery Driver with directions to the predetermined locations using Dispatch Track;

Delivering and setting up merchandise in customers home to the satisfaction of the customer;

Performing minor touch up in the customers home;

Maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle (cab/box, fold pads, hang ties) daily;

Assist Delivery Driver with the inspection of the truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, diesel exhaust additive, oil, and water to insure safety and proper maintenance of the vehicle;

Assist with performing routine or simple maintenance on the vehicle as well as its tools and supplies;

Assisting Visual Merchandiser with floor moves and resets;

Following safety guidelines and reports any unsafe happening or concern to warehouse manager immediately;

Performing other related duties or special projects as assigned.

**Required Education/Experience/Abilities/Skills**

High School diploma or GED equivalency certificate;

Valid Drivers License and a maintained clear and safe driving record

Commitment to Bassetts Vision and Values at all times

Ability to:

Safely drive a 24 foot delivery truck (if needed and authorized)

Navigate through the delivery area

Work in an organized and safety consicious manner

Work as a team with an enthusiastic attitude

Use a wireless tablet, or other Bassett System driven device

Effectively communicate with co-workers, management, and customers

Read, understand and write the English language

Lift and move products weighing up to 70 pounds without a lifting device

Lift and move products in excess of 70 pounds with an approved lifting device

Walk, stand, sit, use hands and fingers, hadle or feel objects, use and/or control tools, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balnce, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear, see up close, in color, depth and distance vision as well as the ability to focus.
