Job Description:
Delivery ManagerPrimary Objectives:To Manage the performance and processes involved with Delivery Department within assigned area.Development of the Delivery ManagerThe Delivery Manager with proper development can expect opportunities to move into roles such as Operation Manger.
  • Product Knowledge - Must understand the entire Portfolio
  • Participates in executive, management, and company staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
  • Continued education programs when necessary.

    • Continuous DOT/ Safety Requirement classes
Essential Function
  • Maintain a Valid Driver's License
  • Must possess an effective ability to communicate orally or in written form effectively with co-management, internal and external customers.
  • Proficient in hiring process (Interviewing, On-Boarding, New hire paperwork) to ensure right fit for job
  • Manage all Accident Reporting (All Required Documentation filled out and summited)
  • Engage and Develop Area Delivery Managers to deliver results by communicating company goals, expectations and deadlines
  • Communicate continuous improvement methods while maintaining company focus goals
  • Teaches, coaches and trains Area Delivery Managers on processes and procedures to maximize profit and productivity
  • Ensures all internal audit guidelines are followed including Check-up Process, Timecard Management and adhere to all CDL guidelines
  • Monitors key business indicators - Number of cases delivered per hour, shrink and develop action plan to increase productivity gains and decrease shrink
  • Establishes behaviors that ensure safe working environment and ensures all Area Delivery Managers and Drivers are trained on safe working techniques in the Market
  • Schedules / Allocate relief help to ensure all routes are covered
  • Proficient in Encompass software
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills
  • Distributes all uniforms and ensures everyone is adhering to company uniform policy
  • Weekly truck inspections (Cleanliness, Operating Conditions)
  • Manage Truck Operations (Pre Trip / Post Trip Inspections daily)
  • Manage Delivery hours (14 Hour Rule)
  • Ensures all equipment is in working conditions (Printers, Sled, Pallet Jacks, Hand Trucks) and assigned to each driver.
  • Conduct Weekly Safety / Communication Meetings
  • Close Working relationship with Sales and Warehouse Managers, as well as with Fleet Maintenance team.
  • Dynamic routing as needed (On-Premise routing) in tight geographic area
  • Reasoning Ability - must demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.
  • Excellent computer skills, Enthusiastic, Team player interested in positive company growth.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Delivery Managers are required to possess and maintain a valid license and ABC permit for the purpose of peddling alcoholic products.
Education and Experience
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing or Organizational Management is required.
  • A minimum of some college course work completed may be accepted with significant (5-10 years) delivery experience with management duties.
