Job Description:
Job DescritionPrimary PurposeThe Delivery Specialist supports technology delivery and operational excellence for a product or capability group which is an organized collection of related teams within IT. This specialist will review and process invoices and financial controls for projects within IT. The products delivered may include technology applications, infrastructure, or services provided. Assists with the delivery and management of IT projects, supporting their successful execution. Assists with tracking scope, cost, and quality of assigned technology projects. Supports initiatives to improve the operations of the product or capability group by compiling metrics and reporting, assisting in the implementation of IT initiatives, and supporting quarterly planning exercises.Works with Contractors through the external vendor manager directly or their back-office support for any assigned work, to coordinate status meetings with the external vendor manager to review progress and quality of assigned work. Assists as needed with providing company protocols, scope of work, and contract adjustments where valid and approved by company.Duties and Responsibilities
  • Project Support: Supports planning and delivery of work utilizing delivery frameworks such as agile or waterfall for project and work management. Assists with the planning, execution, and closing of IT projects, providing day to day support and assisting in preparation of documentation for reporting, stakeholder updates, and program governance.
  • Budgeting and Planning: Supports Group Product Manager and Group Scrum Manager in quarterly planning exercises. Assists with collection and reporting of financial information related to technology projects and initiatives, to support accurate tracking of project budgets and finances.
  • Operational Effectiveness: Assists in implementing new work practices and tools (when necessary) to make operational processes more efficient.
  • Group Program Operations: Assists in data collection, consolidation, and reporting which includes tracking key delivery metrics and performance indicators for the product or capability group. Focused on providing relevant metrics to share with stakeholders related to the program operations (e.g. tracking to progress or key performance indicators). Assists in communicating departmental guidelines, procedures, and/or policies and supporting compliance.
  • IT Vendor Management: Supports project delivery, including coordinating activities related to company oversight of the timeliness and quality of vendor contracts and deliverables. Supports ongoing contract monitoring, and resolution of issues that arise to ensure smooth delivery of services. Assists as needed with providing company protocols, scope of work, and contract adjustments where valid and approved by company.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
QualificationsQualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Science, related field or equivalent training and/or experience Required
Experience
  • 2 years - experience in IT project management, IT solution delivery, related field, or completion of the IT Associates program. Required
  • 1 year- experience working with IT financial and/or vendor management. Preferred
Skills and Abilities
  • Required:
  • Software Delivery Frameworks - Strong knowledge of delivery frameworks such as Agile Scrum, Kanban, and/or Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC); proven ability executing projects in a collaborative, fast paced environment. Beginner
  • Collaboration - Ability to participate in co-operative working relationships including knowledge sharing and partnership in achieving solutions within and across teams Beginner
  • Facilitation - Ability to lead impactful meetings, optimize group processes, foster collaboration, and assist a group or team in understanding and achieving their objectives. Beginner

  • Vendor / Contract Management - Ability to build effective relationships with third party providers, suppliers, and partners. Beginner
  • Financial Reporting - Strong ability to report actual spending in the IT function, including hardware, software, personnel and service spends. Beginner
  • Financial Acumen - Strong financial acumen, including the ability to accurately report spending in the IT function and an understanding of both CapEx and OpEx budgets. Beginner
