Job Description:

Ohio Pharmacy Services (OPS) operates a transportation fleet to provide state agencies and institutions with daily deliveries of medication, laboratory services and commissary goods. The transportation section also provides an Interagency Mail Service at no charge to customers of other OPS services. The service areas consist of eight major routes throughout the state including Athens, Cambridge, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Orient, Toledo and Youngstown, as well as a local route in the Columbus area.

What You'll Do:

This is a Full-Time position. Hours of work: 5:30 am- 3:30 pm (M-F) with rotating day off or 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (M-F).

Responsibilities for drivers include, but are not limited to:

* Will report to Ohio Pharmacy Services daily and drive one of eight statewide routes

* Loads & unloads vehicles, picks up & delivers various materials to state &/or community facilities on scheduled statewide route

* Drives cargo vans & light trucks (under 26,000 lbs.) in all kinds of weather & traffic conditions

* Picks up & delivers pharmaceuticals, medical laboratory samples & supplies, mail, payroll, forms, office supplies, liquids, controlled drugs

* Keeps scheduled timetable; secures vehicle & its contents at all times

* Checks staged deliveries against institutional delivery forms to guarantee accurate & correct deliveries of merchandise &/or reports

* Services equipment with fuel, oil & all fluids; makes regular inspections of equipment; cleans vehicles; reports all malfunctions or repair requirements to supervisor &/or auto mechanic

* Ensures that preventative maintenance (e.g. oil change, lube) is performed at specified intervals; assists in mailroom

Formal education in arithmetic to include addition, subtraction, multiplication & division & in reading, writing & speaking English; valid driver's license. In accordance with Section 124.11(B)(2) of Revised Code, Director of Administrative Services has determined this classification to be unskilled labor class & therefore exempt from written examination.
