DescriptionJOB TITLE: DELKOR OPERATORJOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARYOperate both delkor lines. Setting equipment parameters and performing various product quality inspections. Employee will be responsible for the day to day operationand upkeep of the delkor, case coder. Operator will be responsible for assisting in the training of all operators and breaks. Maintain effective communication with production supervisor, production line lead, filler operator and QC personnel.Support the review, understanding and compliance of all programs, policies and procedures contained in the Food Safety and Quality Management System.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES% OFITEM TIME JOB FUNCTIONS1. 70% Follows approved procedures for processing quality margarine into appropriate packaging. Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards. Adjust machine components and machine tension and pressure according to size of packaging or processing temperature of product. Operate machine that packages product. Remove finished packaged items from machine and separate rejected items. Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine and jams, and document and report malfunctions to a supervisor or lead.2. 20% Follows approved procedures completing sanitation of the process equipment. Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material. Clean and remove damaged or otherwise inferior materials from the line to prepare finish products for next production run. Inspect all equipment on the line at the end of production run or last shift and document... Coordinates change-over with Operator, maintenance and Supply. Responsible for ensuring GMP compliance of all line employees and all associated areas of the packing room.3. 10% secure finished packaged items by packing, gluing packaging, or attaching fastener. Stock and sort product for packaging or filling machine operation, and replenish packaging supplies, such as wrapping paper, plastic film, filler pads and, glue. Performs other duties as needed or assigned by supervisorTOTAL 100%POSITION DIMENSIONS AND QUALIFICATIONSInternal Contacts: Production supervisor, sauce packaging crew, sauce batch and filler operators, temporary personnel and QC/QAExternal Contacts: NoneEducation Level and Focus: High School diploma or equivalent preferredYears and Type of Related Experience Required: Production line experience preferredSKILLS AND ABILITIESInterpersonal and Communication: Ability to function with minimal supervision, including the capacity to follow verbal and written instruction, team player, ability to speak and write English. Ability to direct crew members to achieve efficiencies and maintain open communicationsTechnical and Analytical: Ability to count accurately, attention to detailAdministrative and Operations: Ability to read labels and codes on boxes and productPhysical Demands: Agile, ability to stand for long periods of time, reaching, bending, lift 40+ lbs, pushing, pulling, stretchingWork Environment: Food plant operating 24 hours a day 5-6/days a week, cold, hot and humid ambient conditions, wet/dry floors, high noise levels, moving machinery, forklift and pedestrian traffic.
