Position Summary The Demand Planner is responsible for driving the sales and operations planning (S&OP) process and forecasting of manufactured finished goods, raw materials and purchased finished goods Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts by analyzing sales data, market trends, and customer insights
  • Utilize advanced forecasting techniques and tools to improve forecast accuracy and reliability
  • Create and drive continuous improvement of world-class demand planning and S&OP processes
  • Measure, control, and improve S&OP plan accuracy through clearly defined metrics
  • Utilize ERP System and forecasting software to execute forecasts to support sales demands which drives material requirements planning and master scheduling for multiple sites
  • Review historical sales trends, prepare accurate supply forecasts, develop statistical forecast models
  • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances to refine the forecast to reflect updated sales activities assumptions
  • Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Product Management to understand demand forecast drivers and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts
  • Maintain and update demand planning systems and databases to ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Implement inventory control measures and monitor to minimize excess and obsolete stock while avoiding stockouts
  • Evaluate ABC class and safety stock to determine MRP parameters
  • Regularly interfaces with Sales and Product Management to optimize the forecast and reduce slow moving & obsolete inventories
  • Work with Sales, Product Management and Engineering teams to plan the successful execution of new product launches and product transitions
  • Develop and document best practices and processes
  • Conduct root cause analysis for demand planning discrepancies and implement corrective actions
  • Measure, manage and control routine reporting on forecast accuracy
  • Assist and participate in continuous improvement activities. This may include collaboration with both internal and external resources.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Minimum 3-5 year's experience in Demand Planning, Forecasting and Sales & Operations Planning in global supply chain
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and proficient with forecasting software
  • Must have strong analytical skills and the ability to work with mathematical concepts
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications including advanced skills with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across different functions and levels
  • Ability to lead, contribute, and influence others in a team-based organization
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work autonomously and adapt and learn quickly
Educational & Certification Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, Finance or Statistics
  • APICS certification (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) or similar certification is preferred
