This role plays a critical part in analyzing the impact of promotional activities, marketing efforts, understanding competitive market dynamics, and providing actionable insights to guide leadership decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, forecasting, demand planning, and business strategy, with a keen ability to translate complex data into clear, impactful recommendations.Demand Planning and Promotional Planning
- Develop and maintain robust forecasting models to predict the impact of promotions, catalog mailings, and digital marketing on demand, revenue, and profitability.
- Develop and maintain customer and channel demand plans that tie to overall corporate financial plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Customer Insights, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Operations) to align promotional strategies and expected demand.
- Create data-driven recommendations for optimizing promotion timing, discount levels, and product selection.
Business Analytics and Reporting
- Analyze performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of promotional campaigns and provide insights to improve future strategies.
- Design and deliver regular and ad hoc reports on key KPIs, including revenue growth, market share, customer acquisition, and retention.
- Develop dashboards and visualization tools to communicate data insights effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
Competitive and Market Analysis
- Conduct competitive analysis to understand market trends, pricing strategies, and promotion tactics of key competitors.
- Identify opportunities and threats in the competitive landscape and recommend strategic responses.
Strategic Decision Support
- Provide leadership with actionable insights to support decision-making regarding demand and promotion planning and resource allocation.
- Partner with leaders to define and refine demand plans and promotion objectives that align with overarching business goals.
- Leverage predictive analytics and scenario planning to anticipate market changes and adjust promotional strategies accordingly.
Skills
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent.
- Experience with forecasting models and statistical tools (e.g., Python, R, or similar).
- Solid understanding of promotional strategies and their impact on demand and profitability.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data in a clear and actionable manner.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making at all organizational levels.
- Experience in retail, e-commerce, or consumer goods industries.
- Knowledge of machine learning or AI-driven forecasting techniques.
- Familiarity with pricing and revenue management principles.
Leadership Responsibilities

- Collaborate with upper management to establish team goals aligned with organizational objectives.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of department strategies.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Data Science, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, business analytics, or a similar role.
- Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams.
