The Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) works in partnership with local communities to support people with developmental disabilities in living, learning, and working in their communities. APD provides critical services and support for customers with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential. The Agency serves people with spina bifida, autism, Down syndrome, children ages 3-5 at high risk of developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, Prader-Willi syndrome, Phelan-McDermid syndrome, and intellectual disabilities. SALARY RANGE
$33,760.00 - $37,136.00 Annually $1,298.46 - $1,428.31 Biweekly
The hiring salary may exceed the maximum posted salary.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receives and escorts Tacachale residents and Community dental patients to dental operatory, notifies dentist, ensures patients are properly positioned for least restrictive techniques, and professionally and efficiently assists dentist in the delivery of dental care on Tacachale campus or off-site operatory.
Cleans and disinfects operatories, sterilizes instruments, and maintains operatories and x-ray developer for efficient operation. Prepares supply bags and trays with necessary instruments and supplies.
Provides administrative and clerical support to the Dental Clinic for Tacachale residents and community dental patients. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining records, maintaining the inventory, and ordering dental supplies as necessary. Performs receptionist duties as required and works cooperatively with the entire dental team.
Performs other related duties as required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
* Must be willing to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency.
* Must be willing to work beyond the normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels and meet the needs of the Agency.
* Must complete annual health screening.
* Must be able to lift up to 40lbs with or without accommodations.
This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035.
This position is critical to the safety and supervision of residents and may require the incumbent to work beyond their normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels in the facility.

* Current dental techniques and procedures
* Office procedures and practices

* Work effectively with persons who have significant disabilities
* Provide hands-on assistance to allow dental professionals to provide dental services to persons who may be resisting.
* Work as a team member and remain positive and calm during difficult situations
* Perform Advanced Prevention and Safety Strategies and other specific dental manual restraint

As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
No applicant for a designated position will be employed or permitted to volunteer until the Level 2 screening results are received, reviewed, and approved by the Agency.
Level 2 background screening shall include, but not be limited to, fingerprinting for Statewide criminal and juvenile records checks through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and Federal criminal records checks through the Federal Bureau of Investigation and may include local criminal records checks through local law enforcement agencies.
Pursuant to S. 110.1127(1), Florida Statutes, this position requires a background investigation, including fingerprinting.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
