Job Summary Applicants may be eligible for a hiring bonus of up to $2,500 This position is part-time, day shift Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is seeking an individual to join our Cambridge Dental Clinic for an exciting and rewarding opportunity as a Dental Assistant The Cambridge Dental Clinic provides patient-centered care to peoplewith intellectual/developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, or severe and persistent mental illness. As part of a multi-disciplinaryteam, the Dental Assistant is a strong team player who treats their patients and teammates with dignity and respect. The DentalAssistant provides optimal dental care for these patients, responding to their needs in a respectful and professional manner. Primary Responsibilities Include: Assist the Dentist and Hygienist with patient treatment in clinic, hospital, and surgical settings. Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures. Assist in performing operating room dental procedures. Assist providers in delivering quality care to patients. Sterilize instruments and infection control procedures. Perform expanded functions including scheduling, client intakes, and filing. Track lab cases to verify the case is sent and delivered prior to delivery appointment. Accurately document treatment information in patient charts. Assist with billing, medical record services, and clerical responsibilities. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Active license with the Minnesota State Board of Dentistry as a Dental Assistant. Experience with common oral hygiene techniques and standard dental equipment and methods. Experience operating x-ray equipment, charting mouths, and teeth, keeping records and maintain files, controlling patients, sterilizing instruments, and equipment, and assisting in a dental laboratory. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience working with special needs population. Completion of an Allied Sedation Course approved by the Minnesota State Board of Dentistry.
