**Description:**

**Position Purpose**

At **Saint Francis Hospital** the **Dental Assistant** is responsible for assisting dentists while providing exceptional treatment to patients with various medical conditions.

**What you will do**

+ Assists dental residents in the delivery of dental care

+ Takes medical history, blood pressure, temperature and radiographs on children, adolescent, adult, geriatric and medically compromised patients

+ Complies with safety and infection control standards

+ Performs reception, scheduling, data entry and billing for the Dental Clinic

**Minimum Qualifications**

+ **Education:** High School Graduate. Successful completion of an Accredited Dental Assisting program is required.

+ **Certification** : Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) Infection Control. Must have successfully passed the exam.

+ **Certification** : Radiation and Infection Control Certification required.

+ **Certification** : Basic Life Support (BLS) required

+ **Experience** : 1-3 years of Dental Assistance experience is preferred

+ Ability to pass drug screening and background check
