Location: San Bernardino,CA, USA
The Dental Assistant provides support to the dentist duringpatient care and completes the preparation of the room and dentaltools/equipment. The Dental Assistant complete intake paperwork, update patientrecords, sterilize and organize dental tools, and assist during any dentalprocedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Prepares patient, sterilizes and disinfects instruments,sets up instrument trays, prepares materials, and assists dentist during dentalprocedures
+ Takes and records medical and dental histories
+ Exposes dental diagnostic x-rays
+ Makes preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusalregistrations for mounting study casts
+ Assists dentist in management of medical and dentalemergencies
+ Instructs patients in oral hygiene and plaque controlprograms
+ Provides postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist
+ Records treatment information in patient records
+ Schedules appointments, prepare bills, and receives paymentfor dental services, completes insurance forms, and maintains clerical recordsmanually or using the computer
+ Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
+ High School diploma or its equivalent
+ Current License/Certificate within state of practice
+ One year experience as Dental Assistant preferred
+ Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
+ Participation and completion of Amergis Competency programwhen applicable
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site
+ Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements
+ Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and fromappropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required
+ Computer proficiency required
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
