Job Description:

We are looking for a versatile team player. As a dental assistant, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the dentist to deliver top-notch care to our valued patients, ensuring their oral health and overall well-being. We offer competitive compensation based on experience as well as a very attractive benefits package. Prior dental assistant experience strongly preferred, X-ray certification required. Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare patients for dental examinations
  • Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring all necessary instruments, equipment, and materials are readily available.
  • Craft temporary restorations and manage the scanning of teeth or implants for crowns and cavities.
  • Set up treatment rooms for patient appointments and maintain their cleanliness and equipment readiness.
  • Report directly to the Office Administrator and take on additional assigned tasks as needed.
  • Accurately document patient visits and services in patient charts as directed by the dentist.
  • Input treatment plans into the computer system as instructed by the dentist and Treatment Coordinator.
  • Review daily schedules and collaborate with the dentist regarding patient appointments, including hygiene checks.
  • Keep the Treatment Coordinator informed of any changes in the daily schedule.
  • Efficiently perform patient X-rays, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Ensure daily cleaning and stocking of assigned operatories, following OSHA guidelines for equipment sterilization and maintenance.
  • Maintain various dental equipment, such as suctions, as necessary.
  • Monitor and manage lab deliveries.
  • Assist with sterilization procedures and fulfill other duties as required.
  • Stay updated on the latest dental practices and techniques by attending relevant training sessions.
  • Handle laboratory tasks, including pouring models, sending out cases, creating whitening trays, mouth guards, wax rims, etc.
  • Provide assistance with sealants when needed.
  • Qualifications:
    • Prior dental assisting experience
    • X-ray certification
    • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to set up treatment rooms and manage patient schedules effectively
    • Attention to detail and precision in documenting patient visits and treatment plans
    • Knowledge of dental practices and procedures, and a commitment to staying current with industry advancements
    • Exceptional communication skills to coordinate effectively with the dentist, Treatment Coordinator, and fellow team members
    • A collaborative spirit, with the ability to work harmoniously in a team-oriented environment while following the guidance of the Office Administrator
    • Dedication to maintaining a safe and hygienic working environment in compliance with OSHA standards
    • Willingness to travel to other offices as needed
