Job Summary
Tennessee College of Applied Technology Knoxville is accepting applications for the position of a part time Dental Assisting Adjunct Instructor. This position would typically work less than 20 hours per week at a rate of $30 per hour.
To provide quality instruction for student learning and to maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom.
Job Duties
* The Dental Assisting instructor is responsible for teaching all phases of the State of Tennessee Dental Assisting registry curriculum including classroom, clinical and laboratory. - (Essential)
* Other duties include curriculum updates, professional development, maintain student records, student recruiting, student retention, job placement and functioning as a liaison with area employers. - (Essential)

Minimum Qualifications
* Post-secondary training from an accredited institution in the field
* Must have a minimum of three (3) years current experience in the dental assisting field
* Must hold current TN RDA, DDS/DMD, or RDH licensure in good standing
* Current two (2) year Healthcare Provider BLS CPR w/AED training certification
Preferred Qualifications
* Prior Teaching experience
* TN RDA certifications in the following expanded functions: Nitrous Oxide Monitoring, Dental Radiology, Sealant Application, and Coronal Polishing
* Be familiar with program compliance under TN Board of Dentistry

* Possess organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective instructor
* Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and decision-making
* Strong customer service skills
* Computer skills including general knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
