Sinclair is currently seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty to work in the EFDA Lab in the mornings and afternoons at the Dayton campus with an effective start date of January 13, 2025. The starting pay for Adjunct Faculty is $957 per credit hour assigned to teach.

The Sinclair Dental Assisting & EFDA program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career in the field of dental assisting. The program covers a wide range of topics, from foundational dental terminology to advanced clinical techniques. This comprehensive program prepares students for a rewarding career in dental assisting, offering them the skills and knowledge needed to excel in various dental office settings.

Principal Accountabilities

* Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning

* Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies

* Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate

* Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student's needs

* Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success

* Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning

* Maintain accurate records of student progress

* Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines

* Maintain confidentiality of student information

* Cannot exceed maximum of 12 credit hours per semester

Requirements

* Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred

* Minimum of five years of working experience in the field or industry required

* Must posses and maintain a widely accepted credential, license, or certification in the field or industry

* Evidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferred

* Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level

* Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college community

* Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction
