Because we offer discounted fees to qualified individuals, you might see patients who have not been able to afford dental care for quite some time. Your primary location will be at our main clinic in Wasilla; however, we serve patients out of our Big Lake satellite clinic and should expect to cover that location as needed. You will be part of the dental team and our integrated services, which include medical, behavioral health, substance use, psychiatry, and case management services. Summary: Under the general direction and supervision of the CEO, this position provides comprehensive, coordinated preventive dental services to ethnically diverse patient populations across the lifespan. Essential Duties: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This may include preventative and restorative care. Recommend and/or administer medications in accordance with the standards of care adopted by the Alaska State Board of Dental Examiners and MSHS policies.Within the established time frame, complete or supervise the completion of all necessary documentation of visits, referrals, insurance verification, and any other paperwork that may be a part of the dental visit. Meet patient care productivity requirements as may be set by the Center to meet requirements of outside funding and/or reimbursement sourcesHandle protected health information (PHI) in a manner consistent with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)Participate in quality assurance program development and implementation.Participation in community outreach and education efforts as necessary.Other duties as assigned.Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:Knowledge of dental clinic operations. Ability to support and work collaboratively with clinicians and administrators to oversee dental and business plans.Ability to use Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office Suite programs effectively. Proficiency with Electronic Dental Records.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Ability to relate in a positive, courteous manner to staff and clientsEffective problem-solving and negotiation skills.Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
