Dentist Serve the 'original people' of the US and Minnesota The Community White Earth Reservation White Earth Reservation is located in Becker, Clearwater, and Mahnomen counties in north-central Minnesota. Created in 1867 by a treaty between the United States and the Mississippi Band of Chippewa Indians, it is one of seven Chippewa reservations in Minnesota. Although the White Earth Chippewa no longer live as their ancestors did, they have kept alive their tribal heritage. Almost every aspect of their present-day life has been strongly influenced by the past. Health professionals living and working in the Bemidji Area will find themselves surrounded by thousands of lakes, natural forests, state parks, nature preserves and abundant wildlife. With a patient population of more than 110,500, the Bemidji Area provides clinical service and support to 34 federally recognized Tribes and four Urban Indian Programs in Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana. Read their history here The Facility White Earth Health Center The White Earth Health Center provides healthcare services including family practice, pediatrics, dental, optometry, physical/occupational therapy, lab, radiology with mammography, Bone Density and ultrasound, pharmacy, mental health services, nutrition/diabetic educator services, JVN screenings, and contract health services. In order to continue to provide quality healthcare services for our patients it is necessary to have a full radiology staff. White Earth Health Center Ogema 40520 Co Hwy 34, Ogema, MN, 56569 RESPONSIBILITIES Performs all facets of general dentistry on patients of all ages. Manages significantly medically-compromised patients, consulting with physicians and specialists as necessary. Performs thorough documentation in both medical and dental electronic health records. Keeps abreast of most recent evidence-based standards of care by attending in-person CDE courses annually and completing online trainings and webinars. Evaluates dental assistants' performance and gives real-time feedback; performs competencies and performance evaluations. REQUIREMENTS Education: Applicants must have a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Licensure : Applicants must have passed the National Board Dental Examinations (NBDE) which are developed and administered by the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations (JCNDE) and possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Experience: Must have one year experience as a dentist including: evaluation, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases, injuries, and disorders of the oral cavity and maxillofacial area. Examples of dentistry experience may include the removal of decay; filling cavities; straightening, extracting, and repairing teeth; treating gum diseases; performing corrective surgery; making measurements/models for dentures to replace missing teeth, administering anesthetics, writing prescriptions; and performing other requirements of the position.
