Annual Salary:$163,000 - $190,000 for full-time status; based on experience.
Work Schedule:Flexible schedule options within daytime Health Center hours; no evenings, weekends, major holidays.
Position Overview:Our team is currently seeking candidates for open Dentist positions in two of our North Country locations, which include up-to-date dental suites with state of the art equipment. Candidates will provide examinations, diagnoses, prevention, and treatment of diseases of the teeth, jaw, and mouth in a FQHC dental setting. NHSC scholars are encouraged to apply.
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct examinations and provide treatment to patients referred to the health center.
Discuss the plan of care with the patient, family, and/or guardian.
Implement the procedure for assuring prophylactic antibiotic coverage for patients requiring such before dental treatment.
Maintain records of prescriptions.
Takes all precautions to protect patient, self, and staff when operating x-ray machine.
Work collaboratively with dental staff.
Foster a positive working environment that promotes transparency, learning, and open communication.
Make appropriate referrals when necessary.
Participate in group conferences where expertise is required.
Provide educational programs for patients and staff.
Ensure all patient records are accurate and up-to-date.
Provide post-treatment instructions to patients and staff.
Consult with the Dental Director when equipment needs to be repaired or new equipment purchased.
Ensure infection control policies and procedures are followed.
Follow the progress of Dental Lab (prosthetic) cases and ensure records are accurate.
Participate in meetings, conferences, and trainings to ensure patients receive the highest quality care.
Conduct quarterly peer reviews.
Requirements
Current, active New York State license in Dentistry.
CPR Certification.
Knowledge of eClinical Works (eCW) preferred.
Strong organizational and computer skills.
Ability to effectively interact with patient, family, and/or guardian.
Exhibits a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in dealing with patient issues.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Excellent hand-eye coordination.
Ability to stand and sit for long periods.
Ability to tolerate extensive exposure to computer monitor/screen.
Ability to tolerate extensive use of a computer keyboard.
