Description
Position Summary:
The Dentist is a member of the interdisciplinary health care team which functions to meet the objectives of the dental programs of Northeast Community Clinic. The dental provider will be responsible for providing complete dental care under the supervision of the Dental Director and by written protocols. The Dentist works in conjunction with the Dental Director to implement and maintain Quality Care Programs.

Flexible, may require some evening and weekends
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Provide professional dental services including screening, testing, restorative care, treatment, and emergent dental interventions.
Educate and counsel patients on oral health and preventative care.
Ascertains and documents thorough dental, family and medical history.
Evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment to meet the patient's dental health needs.
Performs appropriate testing and treatment as needed based on the specific needs of each patient.
Proficient in the use of standard dental equipment.
Ensures functionality and sterility of dental equipment used in the course of treatments.
Monitor and evaluate imaging for any part of the patient's oral cavity.
Documents evaluation and action plan, including referrals to other providers, long term medical management, and/or dental therapeutic prescriptions dispensed.
Consult and refer patients to orthodontist or other dental specialist if additional medical treatment is deemed necessary.
Communicates with parents, teachers or other providers, as necessary regarding the management and treatment plan of patients.
Performs other related duties such as completing NECC and other forms as deemed necessary.
Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all staff and patients.
Other duties as designated by the Dental Director or Executive Director.
Maintains all licensing and job requirements (CE, CPR, safety training, PPD)
Ensure optimal use of patients, and treatment room for efficient day-to-day office management.

Minimum Requirements
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Excellent Communication Skills
Excellent Customer Service (Bedside Manners)
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Ability to work as a team player and work independently
Reliable transportation
Must be able to travel from facility to facility
This position requires 10 % travel outside the local area.
Required Education/Experience and/or Licensure/Certifications
Degree: DDS or DMD from an accredited School of Dentistry.
Current California Dental License.
Enrolled in Denti-Cal Program
Preferred experience with Denti-Cal program and understanding of FQHC operations Must have a Nat'l Provider Identifier (NPI), or obtain an NPI, prior to employment start date.
Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience desired but not required.
Have approved credentials with Health Plans
Active DEA License
Knowledge of Dentrix and Digital x-rays, preferred
Commitment to goals and philosophy of Northeast Community Clinic
Current CPR and/or BLS Certification
State Identification
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
OSHA Category 1 Involves exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue The work is majority of the time non-sedentary in nature.
The employee is regularly required to communicate, frequently required to use repetitive motions, move, remain stationary, regularly push, pull and lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds.
Must possess mobility to work in a standard office/clinic setting (in some cases both settings) and to use standard office/clinic equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, read printed materials and use a computer, and communicate in person and over the telephone.
