Utilize your skills and help some of the most vulnerable citizens as a Dentist at Torrance State Hospital! We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team and help us keep our patients healthy on their treatment and recovery journey. If you are looking to use your dentistry to help Pennsylvanians with mental illness, this is a great opportunity for you! As a Dentist at Torrance State Hospital, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive program of oral and dental examination, diagnosis, and treatment for all the patients. Your duties will include conducting initial dental examinations, annual dental examinations, and annual hygiene visits on all patients. You can expect to provide comprehensive dental treatment to cooperative and uncooperative patients. In this position, you will refer patients to specialists for further evaluation and treatment when requirements exceed the scope of care that can be safely provided in-house. Additionally, you will conduct orientation training for new nursing personnel and in-service training for existing staff. Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours will be floating hours according to the needs of the hospital. Overtime and travel as needed. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Graduation from an approved school of dentistry. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree. Special Requirements: This position requires possession of a license to practice dentistry issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry. Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
